Smart Build Calculators

Terms of Use and Disclaimer

Last updated: 16 September 2026

By using this site you accept these terms. They set out what the calculators do, what they do not do, and the limits of what you should rely on them for.

Estimates, not engineering design

Every calculator on this site produces a material quantity estimate from the values you enter. That is a planning aid, not a design.

A material estimate is not structural design, not code compliance, and not a substitute for a qualified engineer or architect.

Calculators needing professional confirmation

Foundation, reinforcement, concrete and roofing results in particular must be confirmed by a qualified professional for your site conditions before any work starts.

Check the current local building regulations and the manufacturer's instructions for every material. Building practice, climate and code requirements differ by country and region.

Accuracy and assumptions

Results depend entirely on the values you enter and on the assumptions listed on each calculator page, including waste allowances, rounding up to whole units and simplified geometry.

We work to keep the formulas correct and deterministic, but we do not warrant that a result is accurate, complete or suitable for your particular project.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from use of the site or reliance on a calculated result.

Acceptable use and changes

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or reuse the content as your own.

These terms and the calculators themselves may change as the site develops. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

Results are material quantity estimates only. They are not structural design, and they are not a substitute for local building codes, engineer approval or manufacturer instructions.
