Calculator categories
Calculators are grouped by the part of the build they belong to. Each group page explains what you can calculate and links to every calculator in it.
Categories
Flooring calculators
Work out how much flooring material a room needs before you buy: tiles, laminate, parquet, screed and skirting, plus the floor area they are all based on.
Wall calculators
Everything that covers a wall: wall area, paint, wallpaper, plaster and putty. Start from the wall area and reuse it across the other calculators.
Concrete calculators
Volume and mix quantities for poured concrete work. These are material estimates: the concrete grade and the structural design still come from your engineer or supplier.
Construction calculators
Masonry and structure: bricks, blocks, mortar, drywall, reinforcement and foundations. These calculations feed each other — brick work leads to mortar, foundations lead to concrete and rebar.
Renovation calculators
Room-level calculations that combine several trades at once: floor area, wall area, volume and the flagship calculator that estimates a whole room's materials from one set of measurements.
Roofing calculators
Roof surface area and sheet counts, and the fence calculator that shares the same linear estimating logic. Roof geometry is simplified to a symmetrical gable — check complex roofs with your roofer.
Insulation calculators
Insulation area, thickness and package counts for walls, ceilings and floors. Check the required thermal resistance for your climate and building code before fixing a thickness.
